Photography Permits
Photography in the Historic Jerusalem Mill Village
Photographers with a State Park Photography Permit are welcome to use Jerusalem Mill Village for Portrait and Special Event photography during normal park hours. The Friends of Jerusalem Mill charge fees for commercial production photography (movies, television shows, commercials) and request a donation for special event photography (family portraits, weddings, graduation). These fees are used to restore and maintain the Historic Village and to ensure its continued beauty for the future.

The State Park only requires permits for commercial photographers sceduling multiple appointments. One time photo sessions do no require a permit.

If you would like to reserve an area in the Village to ensure that you have access for you and your clients, please email the Friends of Jerusalem Mill at historicjerusalemmill@gmail.com .
Reservations for photography can be made for the following areas:
Meadow between the Blacksmith Shop and the Little Gunpowder Falls
Sawmill area between the Mill Building and the Little Gunpowder Falls
Area surrounding the Miller’s House
The reservation fee is $100 per hour. You will have exclusive rights to the area for the reserved time and be able to setup props or backdrops.
Props of any kind must be set up and taken down during the reservation period. Unsupervised materials may be removed without notice by the State Park or Friends of Jerusalem Mill staff.
No reservations will be taken during our Living History Hours, Saturdays and Sundays between 1 and 4 p.m., or when we have special events. We have limited parking and are ensuring our visitors can park to attend. Feel free to email us to check the special event schedule for private events and area reservations.
It will be the photographer’s responsibility to place “Area Reserved from (Day and Time range)” signs at the typical entrances to the areas and to remove them after your session. Reserved signs can be placed as early as 10 a.m. on the day of your reservation. We ask that you respect signs that show an area reserved by another group.
Reminder: No reservations will be granted on Saturdays and Sundays between 1 and 4 p.m. , so as not to detract from our Living History Interpretations.
Drones or UAV’s are not permitted on State Land.
Glitter and balloons are prohibited from use.
All photographers will be held responsible for any damages or injuries related to the use of the Village. The photographer scheduling the photography sessions will be held responsible for damages to walkways, structures, fences, benches, picnic tables, shrubbery, trees and plants.
