The small stone spring house is located in the field east of the General Store.
Before the days of modern refrigeration food was placed in the springhouse either directly in the water or on shelves located along the walls. The relatively constant cool water temperature, convection and the plaster and stone of the building worked together to keep perishable goods for a longer time.
